A satellite antenna, also a satellite communication antenna, is an antenna used to receive and (or) transmit radio signals between earth satellite communication stations and artificial satellites of the Earth, in a narrower sense - an antenna used in organizing communication between earth stations with relaying via satellites. Various types of antennas are used in satellite communications, the most famous being reflective parabolic antennas (“satellite dishes”, eng. Satellite Dish), massively used in various fields, from satellite TV and VSAT networks to space communication centers. The use of phased antenna arrays for satellite communications is actively developing, which makes it possible to carry out high-speed pointing of the antenna to the satellite using exclusively electronic methods. Weakly directional satellite antennas that do not require any guidance are common, both external and built into satellite navigation signal receivers, satellite phones and other equipment. Depending on the purpose of the satellite communication system, other types of antennas can be used.
