The air pressure receiver (APS) of an aircraft is a device for selecting atmospheric pressure signals for supplying them to static and dynamic pressure systems, as well as to a number of electrical sensors of flight information display systems, to engine automation and a number of other aircraft systems (consumers). It is used as the primary part of the airborne signal system (SAS) to calculate the indicated and airspeed, true airspeed, vertical speed and barometric altitude on airplanes, helicopters, etc. There are total pressure receivers (PPD), static pressure and combined receivers. Often, HPHs are equipped with electric heating devices to prevent icing and clogging in the SHS, for the same purpose, while the aircraft is parked, its HPHs are closed with plugs. Also, the plugs close the openings of the HPH from insects that can penetrate into the internal cavity and lead to an aircraft crash.
The static pressure receiver is a bar (plate) with holes located on the aircraft side skin in a specified place.
The dynamic pressure receiver measures the pressure of the incoming flow and is a pin protruding forward.
The combined receiver is an aerodynamic probe in the form of a pneumometric tube, designed to collect the total and static pressure of the incoming air flow. The design is usually based on a Prandtl tube with the addition of a heating system to prevent icing.
The stagnant flow sensor - measures the pressure of the flow of incoming air, subject to its deceleration.
