IAR 80 (Romanian IAR 80) is a Romanian fighter-bomber during the Second World War. The first serial fighter of the Romanian design. It was an all-metal monoplane with a closed cockpit and retractable landing gear with a tail wheel. Developed under the direction of Ion Grosu in the design office of IAR. The IAR 80 made its first flight on April 12, 1939. The design of the aircraft used part of the components and assemblies of the Polish fighter PZL P.24, which was built at IAR under license.
