Beechcraft 1900 - American turboprop aircraft, 19-seat airliner for local lines. Developed on the basis of aircraft of the Beechcraft King Air family. Serially produced in 1982-2002, 695 aircraft were produced in several modifications. It is widely used as a regional and administrative aircraft, there are passenger and cargo modifications.
The aircraft was developed by Beechcraft on the basis of the previous Super King Air, and is, in fact, an elongated and deeply redesigned version of the latter. The first flight of the prototype was made on September 3, 1982, the type certificate was received in November 1983. The first aircraft entered service in 1985. Serial production continued until 2002.
Main production series:
1900С - model with caisson fuel tanks in the wing.
1900D (since 1991) - interior design redesigned (higher ceiling), more powerful engines, other propellers installed, wing design changed.
The aircraft is widely operated by air carriers on local regional lines. Possessing good takeoff and landing characteristics, the aircraft is suitable for operation from short runways, including unpaved ones.
As of July 2011, 443 Beechcraft 1900 aircraft (of all modifications) are in service. Among them - 137 machines of the 1900C series; the main operators are Alpine Air (9 aircraft), Ameriflight (22) and Pacific Coastal Airlines (6), in addition to 50 other airlines with fewer aircraft.
