I-216 is a single-seat fighter-interceptor with two Rolls-Royce Derwent turbojet engines. Created by OKB-21 under the leadership of S.M. Alekseev.
The Alekseev I-21 is a Soviet twin-engine jet fighter built in the late 1940s. Two prototypes were built with the designation I-211, one of which was converted to I-215 with more powerful engines. A third aircraft was built to evaluate bicycle chassis for use in other aircraft. The fighter was not put into production, as it was inferior to the swept-wing fighters of the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 type.
